PERKINS TWP.

Erie County plans to shrink its fleet of county vehicles as a way to cope with a tight budget.

The county has 178 vehicles in various departments. Each vehicle costs about $8,000 to $10,000 a year, said county commissioner Pat Shenigo, who is leading the effort to reduce the size and cost of the county's vehicle fleet.
