Grease and Glamour, a ladies event to benefit Safe Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter, will be from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 10 at Foster Chevrolet Cadillac, 2504 Hayes Ave.

With no charge for admission, there are dozens of women’s vendors at the event, with gifts, raffles and samples galore.

A suggested donation of paper products or cleaning supplies for shelter residents also will be accepted.

A second event to raise awareness will be a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m., Oct. 18, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 431 Columbus Ave.

Attendees at both events may wear lavender ribbons in awareness of domestic violence.
