SANDUSKY

Heavy rain and near hurricane-force winds blew down power lines, leaving thousands in the area without power and downed trees blocking roads.

Things were so bad in Huron County — where some 20 roads were closed and hundreds were without power — that the Emergency Management Agency opened an emergency shelter, Huron EMA Director Bill Ommert said.
