PERKINS TWP.

Fourteen Perkins Schools teachers had to pay the district back $30,427.

The state auditor's office -- which conducted a special audit on the district to investigate if there was "theft or misuse of taxpayer dollars" -- determined that the teachers misused their health insurance.

A special prosecutor is examining the case and will decide if criminal charges will be filed.
