LYME TOWNSHIP

Four Willard teens were injured after their car slid under a truck Saturday afternoon, and two of them were hurt seriously enough to be flown to a hospital in Toledo.

The four included Katie L. Danhoff, 16, taken by ambulance to a Bellevue hospital and then flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo; Courtney L. Machiusi, 16, flown to Toledo from the scene; the driver, Tyler R. Secor, 17, taken to Bellevue Hospital, and Anderson M. Showman, 17, who suffered only minor injuries.

The accident took place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Section Line 30, about two miles east of Bellevue, Ohio Highway Patrol trooper Eric Wlodarsky said.

Secor, behind the wheel of a 2002 Dodge Stratus, was driving north on Section Line 30. He slid in the intersection and the car wound up beneath a Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck driven by Luis L. Herrera, 29, Richmond, Texas. Herrera was uninjured, Wlodarsky said.

The slick road apparently contributed to the crash.

"They were trying to stop. The road was all snow-covered," Wlodarsky said.
