A bill has just been introduced which will cost many Ohioans their jobs. It is Senate Bill 9, introduced by Harry Reid, a senator from Nevada. This bill is dishonestly-named the "Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009." It is actually the Weaker Borders, Weaker Economy Act, because it gives amnesty and eventually citizenship to over 15 million illegal immigrants.

These people have already taken American jobs but it will be worse when they receive amnesty. It will be impossible to get rid of them and there will be 15 million more people competing for the job you want. This is not a stagnant number because the government is continuing to allow 138,000 foreign workers into this country every month on work Visas.

If you are a union member, do not assume that your union is taking a leadership position in opposing Senate Bill 9. Many unions have caved in to amnesty, to the extent that rank and file members are unwittingly donating money to pro-amnesty political action committees, via their dues.

The only thing to do is write or call your senators and say that you oppose the unsustainable tide of cheap illegal labor. Sure it will take some of your time, but it will also take time for you to look for a new job when your old job is taken, and it will cost a lot less.
