MILAN

Milan had to spend $11,000 to reinforce the Rattlesnake Creek bridge after heavy rains in 2007.

Village officials battled with the state for more than a year about who should pay for the repairs. Now they won't have to worry about future issues.

Huron County Commissioners approved a detachment petition Tuesday that removes the right-of-way along the U.S. 250 bridge from the village. This makes the Ohio Department of Transportation responsible for maintenance and repairs.
