SANDUSKY

The Firelands Area Safe Kids Coalition is hosting a car seat check from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Foster Chevrolet Cadillac, 2504 Hayes Ave.

Foster Chevrolet Cadillac is offering a day pass to Kalahari for children getting their seats checked. The number of passes are limited and require that the child be present and have their seat checked.

Certified child passenger safety technicians will provide free safety seat inspections to ensure that children are secured properly in the right seat for their age and height. Children are required by law to be in an approved child safety seat until they reach age 4 or 40 pounds.

Ohio law also requires all children up to 4 feet, 8 inches tall or 8 years old to be in an approved booster seat. Please bring your child, car seat and vehicle owner's manual to ensure the most thorough inspection. All seats will be checked against a manufacturer's recall list.

For information, call Easter Seals Northern Ohio at 800-696-5601.
