The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

The storm is forecasted to move into the upper Ohio Valley on Saturday. Snow will spread across the area this afternoon then continue into Saturday.

Moderate to heavy snow is expected to spread west to east across the area this afternoon. Afternoon accumulations of 2 to 4 inches can be expected across northwest Ohio especially near Toledo.

The total amount of snowfall is expected to be 6 to 10 inches by Saturday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A winter storm warning is issued when severe winter weather is expected.

Heavey snow and/or ice will cause hazardous driving conditions. If you are traveling in the warning area, you should choose an alternate route if possible or you should use extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
