FREMONT

The young and young at heart visited the Hayes Presidential Center Sunday for all the bells and whistles.

Fast- and slow-moving model trains clicked over the length of a variety of tracks, circling the large table, just low enough for little eyes to see but just high enough so curious hands could not reach. The table was covered with stretched cotton balls, or fresh "snow," modeled carefully around the lower trunks of miniature trees and ceramic buildings. Daintily painted figurines of railroad workers waved to small families out for a "stroll" and large groups "skating" on a mirror "pond."
