SANDUSKY

The Ohio Department of Taxation has rejected the 2-mill permanent improvement replacement levy approved by voters in November because it was on the ballot too early.

School officials said the error might be a blessing in disguise, because recent guideline changes by the Ohio School Facilities Commission might allow the district to get funding for a middle school building.
