Shoppers may not be the only ones drawn to the shopping plazas along Milan Road on Black Friday and the remainder of the holiday shopping season.

Past years have seen an increase in theft reports during holiday shopping, according to the Perkins Police Department.

Perkins police offered the following tips for shoppers:

-- Always keep vehicle doors locked and windows rolled up.

-- Do not leave packages in open view in vehicles.

-- Do not leave garage door openers, spare keys, cash, or any personal identifiers such as drivers licenses, vehicle titles, Social Security cards inside vehicles.

-- Keep track of wallets, checkbooks and credit cards while shopping.

-- Make your personal safety a priority; don't put your safety in jeopardy for money.

-- If something does happen, report it to the police immediately.
