SANDUSKY

Here comes Santa Claus -- and a little bit of Hanukkah, too.

The Firelands Symphony Orchestra is trying to offer a little something for everyone in its Dec. 7 "Family Holiday Concert."

It will have classical favorites by composers such as Bizet, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Haydn. It will have many popular favorites, including "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Sleigh Ride." Santa Claus has been booked for an appearance, and conductor Carl Topilow will haul out his clarinet for "A Clarinet Hanukah," a collection of Hanukkah tunes.

The orchestra's executive director, Jamie Steinemann, thinks word is beginning to leak out about the holiday program. Due to brisk ticket sales, balcony seats at the Sandusky State Theatre are being made available for the first time for a Firelands Symphony Orchestra concert.
