U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown says that if you think the U.S. is in a recession now, wait and see what will happen if Congress does nothing and allows Detroit's Big Three automakers to go bankrupt.

The senator told reporters in a telephone conference call today that auto parts makers in Erie County and other Ohio counties will face trouble if the Big Three don't get the $25 billion short-term loan they need to get over their immediate economic woes.
