SANDUSKY

Police are still looking today for a man they say robbed a local carry-out store at gunpoint Friday night, wearing a Halloween mask.

Officers from the Sandusky Police Department responded to a store alarm at about 8 p.m. at Cliff's Grocery & Carry Out, 809 Pierce St.

The suspect, described as a tall and thin white or very light-skinned black male, entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a white plastic "Scream" mask, according to the police report.

He carried a silver revolver with a black handle, demanded money and fired the weapon into a nearby wall, the report said.

Sandusky Police Lt. Mike Campbell said the suspect then took an unspecified amount of money and fled on foot.

Several customers were in the store at the time of the robbery, he said.

By 10 p.m. that night, the store had closed its doors. A store employee who answered the phone after hours said he could not comment on the incident.

Anyone with information should contact the Sandusky Police Department at 419-627-5900.
