I have been a member of a local credit union for about 40 years and have regularly gotten loans to help purchase cars, homes and a variety of other monetary assistance. The present bank financial crisis has given a lot of people a reason to worry, especially those with the sub-prime mortgages.

I have recently applied for and received loans from my credit union. I have been reassured that there is money to be loaned at reasonable rates. My credit union has been a community member for many years and has helped many of its members, both individual and business members.

In an economy where banks are being closed and merged it is nice to know that it isn't every banking institution that is in trouble. The credit union has been and continues to be a solvent institution ready to serve its members.

There is no crisis at the credit union.
