No major snags reported in early voting at local polling locations as voters steadily streamed in to cast their ballots in this historic election.
“Smooth. No problems,” said Richard Dennis as he exited a polling location at the Sandusky Library at just after 10 a.m. The 77-year-old Dennis waited about 20 minutes to vote. he declined to say if he voted for Democrat Barack Obama or Republican John McCain in the presidential election.
The polls opened in Ohio at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 p.m.
Dennis Feltner voted with his father Jack at the Sandusky Library.
“It moved right along. I was surprised,” Feltner said of the 20-minute wait to vote.
“I think every precinct has long lines, which we were anticipating,” Erie County Board of Elections deputy director Jennifer Ferbeck said.
