ERIE COUNTY

Ohio 60 in Vermilion is closed beginning Oct. 8 for a resurfacing project. The detour route for northbound motorists is Ohio 60 to South Street, west on South Street to Grand Street, north on Grand Street to U.S. 6, and reverse. The project includes roadway resurfacing, curb reconstruction, drainage improvements, brick sidewalk installation, lighting, minor utility replacement, and tree planting. Estimated end date is Nov. 15.

On Friday, Oct. 24, U.S. 250 westbound traffic shifted to the west as the project moved into its next phase of construction. Westbound motorists should expect short-term delays. Eastbound motorists will not be affected by the traffic shift. A bridge rehabilitation and widening project on U.S. 250, at its overlap with Ohio 113, will replace the existing structures over the Huron River and the abandoned railroad. U.S. 250 is restricted to one lane of bi-directional traffic. U.S. 250 traffic has shifted onto the current eastbound lanes, and one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. Estimated end date is May 30, 2009.

Ohio 60, between Ohio Street and U.S. 6, is closed due to a resurfacing project on Ohio 60 (Main Street) in the Vermilion. The project includes roadway resurfacing, curb reconstruction, drainage improvements, brick sidewalk installation, lighting, minor utility replacement and tree planting. Two narrowed lanes of traffic are being maintained in each direction. The detour route for northbound motorists is Ohio 60 to South Street, west on South Street to Grand Street, north on Grand Street to U.S. 6 and reverse. Estimated end date is Nov. 15.

Resurfacing project on U.S. Route 6 (Liberty Avenue) in Vermilion. The project includes roadway resurfacing, curb reconstruction, drainage improvements, brick sidewalk installation, lighting, minor utility replacement and tree planting. Work has resumed as part of this streetscape project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. Estimated end date is Nov. 15.

HURON COUNTY

U.S. 250 will have intermittent single lane closures of short duration as crews mobilize heavy hauling equipment for a railroad grade separation project on U.S. 250. No major impacts to traffic are expected; however, motorists are reminded to use caution when approaching the construction work zone. The project will construct an overpass over the CSX railroad crossing on a new roadway alignment. The project will also include the construction of a new bridge spanning the Vermilion River.

OTTAWA COUNTY

Until mid-November, Ohio 163 will be closed between Ohio 105 and Ohio 19. Eastbound detour: Ohio 51; Ohio 579; Ohio 19. Westbound detour: Ohio 19; Ohio 2; Ohio 579. Contact the Village of Oak Harbor for details. Estimated end date is Dec. 19.

SANDUSKY COUNTY

U.S. 20 is being widened from two lanes to five from Busch Street in Woodville to Bradner Road. Lane widths in both directions are restricted to 11 feet throughout the construction zone. One lane will be maintained at all times. Through October 2009, Bradner Road south of U.S. 20 will be closed. Detour: Pemberville Road. On Wednesday, Oct. 22, all five lanes of traffic will be open in the village of Woodville. Project complete: November 2009. All work is weather permitting. Estimated end date is Nov. 30.
