Fewer than 100 days left till the end of an error.
President George W. Bush said last weekend, he had much to do in his time remaining in office. Americans may be better served to remind the president he's done enough already.
The two presidential candidates have focused for several weeks on the dismal state of the economy. One of these men is the future of the country. They've both worked overtime to try to come up with a recovery plan to counteract eight years of failed policies of George Bush.
By taking stock today, it's evident Bush doesn't understand what it takes to have a healthy economy, and either hasn't put the right advisors on staff or doesn't listen to what the economists have to say.
Every time he opens his mouth to speak about this sad state of affairs, the stock market drops. Even John McCain, a dyed-in-the-wool Bush Republican for all that he says he's a maverick, says it's time for a change. Barack Obama says we cannot afford another four years of Bush's economic policies. They're both right on that one.
The president has had eight years to clean up this mess. His policies haven't worked. He didn't get us where we are today all alone. He's had plenty of help in putting us trillions in debt and standing on the brink of disaster. But, he's failed miserably at taking care of the American people and has moved the United States from the major league to the Bush league among world powers.
No, we can't afford four more years, we can barely afford three more months. Jan. 20, 2009, can't come soon enough for most Americans.
