Oct. 14: Old Milan Townhall on the Square from 9 a.m. to noon. Firelands will provide free blood pressure/blood sugar (two-hour fast) and full-lipid cholesterol; child passenger seat checks provided, weather permitting.

Oct. 22: Fisher-Titus Rehabilitation Center offers the latest advancements in treating pain; meet one-on-one with Dr. David Pocos of Access Orthopaedics and the team of Fisher-Titus specialists from rehab and nursing. Oct. 29: Doors for the Fourth Annual Girls' Night Out open at 4 p.m. at Nia Center, Kalahari, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The evening of pampering and fun includes music, magic, silent auction, appetizers and a special version of "Deal or No Deal. Tickets are $40 and are available at area businesses, including the Fisher-Titus' gift shop.

Oct. 17: Firelands, in coordination with the Erie County Health Department, are offering the Happiest Baby on the Block parenting class from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Erie County Health Department, 420 Superior St. The course is free. Register by calling 419-626-5623.

Helmets for Kids

Get your children properly fitted with a new bicycle helmet. Children must be present for proper fit. $2 donation per helmet is requested. The fittings are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed noon to 1 p.m.) at Fisher-Titus Specialty Services, 111 E. Main St., New London.
