HURON

Amid more bad news from Wall Street, at least one local company is bucking the trend and expanding.

News-2-You, an online education publishing company, broke ground Thursday afternoon for a new building in the HuronIndustrial Park.

Jacquie Clark, News-2-You's president and founder, said the company's Main Street office isn't big enough anymore.

"We have grown so much in the last few years that we no longer have room in the office where we are," she said. "We just brought on another new person this week, and we have her sitting at a table with a computer."

Jacquie and David Clark began News-2-You in Cincinnati in 1997 and operated it out of a sparebedroom when they moved to Huron in 2000, Jacquie said.

Now the company has 15 full-time employees, plus a few part-time workers.

They are offering a full special-education curriculum for the first time this year, complementing existing products such as a current events newspaper for readers with special needs.

Jacquie attributed News-2-You's success to providing usefulmaterials at affordable prices.

"It was never planned to be a big company, it was never planned to do as much as we've done," she said. "But as long as we're having a great time doing it, we willcontinue."

Greg Reynolds of TusingBuilders said the new facility willbe about 5,600 square feet andhouse News-2-You's corporate offices and production facilities, with a design that would allow for easy expansion.

Work will begin Oct. 21 and should be finished around the first of the year.
