Haunted houses aren't the only places to find fright-oriented family joy this Halloween season. There are plenty of events throughout the month of October to keep you and your little ones entertained.

Halloween Campouts:

These two campouts take place Oct. 3-4 and Oct. 10-11 at East Harbor State Park in Marblehead. Not only will you have a blast camping in the park, there will be a bonfire, dancing, scarecrow-building and a haunted house. Family Scarecrow Making Festival:

Burnham Orchards in Berlin Heights continues their fall festivities with a scarecrow making festival Oct. 4-5. Make your own scarecrows and enjoy all the orchards have to offer. For more info call 419-588-2138 or visit burnhamorchards.com

Boo at the Bay Pumpkin Festival:

An annual family favorite, Boo at the Bay in downtown Sanudusky also held Oct.4-5 features pumpkin decorating, a pumpkin drop, pumpkin painting, children's activities, children's costume parade, Underground Railroad trolley tours and more. Port Clinton Halloween Spooktacular:

On Oct. 25, Port Clinton will be spooky and scary as the community comes together to present tons of kids activities, from a costume party to crafts, games and prizes. Sandusky Halloween Costume Parade:

Halloween Costume Contest & Sweet Scavenger Hunt Kids:
