What a privilege it is to have available to us in North Central Ohio the quality music of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of music director Carl Topilow.

We attended the performance of "The Magic of the Classical Guitar" and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center, Norwalk. This excellent structure for the performing arts, as well as the classic concert hall of the Sandusky State Theater provides a fine venue for the Symphony's performances.

We are fortunate to have Maestro Topilow as he brings to our area a networking of musical arts resources by virtue of his conducting the Cleveland Pops as well as teaching at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music. Furthermore, it is just a lot of fun to hear him play the clarinet with the orchestra. He is a rare combination of both professional musician and personal entertainer.

Having sung in the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for over 25 years as a volunteer, listening to this concert brought back those days of performing great music. We encourage our communities to support the further growth of our Firelands Symphony Orchestra.
