In response to the letter concerning State Senate District 2 candidate Jackie Brown, I have had the pleasure of introducing Jackie to many Erie Countians over the past months. She has personally been at several of the parades, at the Erie County Fair four out of six days and plans to be at several upcoming events.
One of those events is the Democratic Women of Erie County’s annual picnic and fundraiser Monday at UAW Local 913. This event is open to the public. Jackie will be there personally to meet and greet all early. She has a Rossford school board meeting that evening that she will be “speeding” back to attend to continue fulfilling her obligations representing the Rossford community.
Jackie’s schedule has been very full visiting all corners of District 2 — including all of Erie and Huron counties and parts of Lucas and Wood counties. Yes, she does walk in many peoples’ shoes — she leads a very demanding life as a mother, caretaker, career woman and now a politician who can — and will — make a difference in Columbus for all of us. Proclamations are nice for officeholders to present — especially since they have the advantage of being in office. However, proclamations don’t do a thing for those lacking healthcare, reforming our education system or stopping the hemorrhaging of good paying jobs out of our area as the economy continues its spiral downturn.
We need people in Columbus who are interested in working with Gov. Strickland on the above issues. Jackie is one of those people.
