An 8-year-old girl can now sleep soundly at night.
The man who sexually abused her two summers ago, Thomas McGovern, 52, of Huron, was convicted Thursday afternoon of two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition.
He could face life in prison when he is sentenced Monday. He committed the offenses in July and August 2006 when the girl -- a relative -- was 6 years old, court records state.
