Margaretta Board of Education is placing the school district's future in the voter's hands.
Monday night the board unanimously decided to place a1 percent earned income tax levy on the Nov. 4 ballot.
"We saw this trend coming. We recognized it, we saw it, and we rearranged bus routes, realigned our schools and made budget cuts," board member Mark Bodey said. "All the tightening we've done has bought us two years. We're out of options now. Either we do this, or we're going to run out of revenue."
