SANDUSKY

Police arrested two people and are searching for two more in connection with a shooting outside Alpha & Omega Laundry Mat earlier this month.

Daniel R. Gibbs, 19, 1500 block Lindsley St., and a 16-year-old boy are both charged with attempted murder and felonious assault.

Police say Gibbs and the boy, along with another juvenile and an adult, shot at a Sandusky man behind the coin laundry on Hayes Avenue.

Earl Perry, 40, was sitting in his car Aug. 8 when a single shot ripped through the back side of the vehicle.

Perry drove away before the suspects fired any more shots, Det. Gary Wichman said.

A spent casing from a .38-caliber pistol was found in the trunk, he added.

"(Perry) was rapidly leaving when he (saw) the gun," Wichman said.

The motivation for the crime remains under investigation, Wichman said. Police do know Perry is an ex-boyfriend of the mother of one of the boys.

"We're still looking for two people," Wichman said. "They are hiding right now."

Wichman said he predicts the others will face the same charges as Gibbs and the boy.

Gibbs, whose bond was revoked, is in Erie County jail. The boy was taken to Erie County Juvenile Detention home.

Attempted murder is a first-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
