The Erie County Health Department is asking voters this fall to pick up part of the tab for its services.

The department plans to ask voters to approve a 0.3-mill replacement levy Nov. 4.

A health department fact sheet says the replacement levy would generate $654,738 a year. An owner of a $100,000 house would expect to pay $9.19 a year under the levy.

Because it is a replacement levy, the health department levy would amount to a small tax increase. A renewal levy would have collected $8.20 in taxes from the owner of a $100,000 home.
