Departments of applied sciences, humanities, and natural and social sciences. Certificate programs are available in bookkeeping, business application specialist, management and supervision and small business management. Fourteen associate degrees representing 22 areas of study prepare students for transfer to bachelor's programs or for entry into the job market in a technical or paraprofessional area. BGSU Firelands provides the first two years of instruction toward advanced nursing degrees and respiratory care in association with Lorain County Community College. Students can begin one of the more than 200 BGSU undergraduate majors and programs at BGSU Firelands. BGSU Firelands also offers online courses, an ElderCollege and (in conjunction with EHOVE) BEST Partnership Customized Training.

A two-year accredited, state-supported, commuter college, Terra offers many options for those who desire to take one course or a full curriculum leading to an associate degree in applied business, applied science, arts, individualized study, science or technical studies. Students who wish to continue their education may transfer credits to a four-year college or university.

Sandusky City Schools offers a variety of certificated short and long term programs in medical, industrial, office and computer programs as well as free classes for earning a GED or basic skills. Career offerings include cosmetology, professional office assistant, firefighting, law enforcement, nursing, medical assisting and aide, phlebotomy, welding, electrician, auto CAD and HVAC.

Open to recent high school graduates and adults who wants to continue getting an education. Flexible scheduling and a variety of financing options for those who qualify. Associate degrees are offered in accounting, administrative office assistant, business administration, finance, human resource management, information technology computer support, information technology in applications, legal assistant, medical administrative assistant, Web page and design. Diplomas awarded for completion of classes in accounting clerk, computer software specialist, medical office specialist, office support specialist and PC support specialist. Certifications offered in Microsoft office specialist, real estate pre-licensing and IT Certification.

Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing

In three years of full time study, students can graduate with a diploma in nursing from Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing and an associate degree with a concentration in Natural and Behavioral Sciences from Lourdes College. After graduation, students may continue taking classes at Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing in Sandusky and earn a BSN in three semesters from Lourdes College. Students may also join the workforce while continuing to work on a BSN part-time or may come back at a later time to enroll in the RN to BSN Program LPNs wishing to become RNs are given advanced standing for their previous education.

Vanguard Sentinel Career Centers Adult Education

Designed for adults who have been out of the workforce and want to return with better skills for a better job or are seeking to change careers and need new skills to do so. The programs are offered at Vanguard Career Center and the Technology Center in Fremont at Sentinel Career Center in Tiffin. Full-time career training is available in the fields of administrative secretarial, automotive technology, building & property maintenance, business & industry training services, computer support technician, diversified medical occupations, farm management, precision machining, public safety service and small business management.

Short-term training programs include: agriculture education, business/office education family & consumer science, medical education, personal development, trade/industrial education. Adult basic and Literacy Education and General Educational Development are also offered.
