State marks Tin Goose's official place in history

PORT CLINTON

To honor the Tin Goose and Milton Hersberger, the "Tin Goose" Chapter 1247 of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Ohio Historical Society unveiled a new Ohio Historical Marker on Tuesday afternoon at Carl R. Keller Field in Port Clinton.

EAA Chapter 1247 president Lisa Benjamin said she and the Ohio Historical Society planned the unveiling to coincide with the arrival of a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor visiting from the national EAA in Wisconsin.

Tri-Motor rides

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday

WHERE: Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport, Carl R. Keller Field, 3255 E. State Road, Port Clinton

COST: Ride the Ford Tri-Motor for $50 ($40 for EAA members). Rides in the copilot seat are $100.
