A number of protesters gathered in downtown Sandusky on Thursday to demonstrate their opposition to President Barack Obama.

Bill Roberts, running for congress in Michigan, and fellow protestor Alan Egre, said they’d encountered reactions of all kinds since they’d been camped out at about 9:30 a.m. Their goal is to impeach Obama, upsetting him so another Democrat can run for president in the fall election.

“Are you ready to dump Obama?” Roberts asked one driver.

“I’ve been ready,” she said with a thumbs up, before pulling out of the driveway.

@Randy Marsh, they don't like Romney because they are racists, and religious bigots. LOL

Swamp Fox

"Mostly Peaceful" once again the newspaper shows their liberal agenda.  I observed this group, couldn't join them because I was working, they were totally law abiding and peaceful, unlike the "occupy" liberal types or the protesters 4 years ago at the McCain rally.  One member of the group commented to me their numbers would have increased if it wasn't during the  workday, some thing that the Obama supporters don't have to worry about.

When are you going to understand that no politician cares about you at all. It's election time and, if they can lie or cheat their way into your hearts and gain your trust so that you will vote for them, they've done their job. Then they can move on to the next "big money" election. Maggots and leeches in nice suits and ties.

The only "people" politicians really care about are those with enough money to get them noticed by the media and help them win elections. You know, all the "good guys" like bankers, stock brokers and people with more money than sense. The people who are wringing every last bit of wealth out of the middle class. The only people really cared for by our "benevolent leaders".

I can only hope that both Obama and Romney "self-destruct" in October and Ron Paul gets elected by default.

The Big Dog's back

hilltop, I can accuse Obama of being naive for thinking he could negoitate in good faith with right wingers, but a liar? Never.

Randy_Marsh

The protection squad is out in force. You have those that will blame everyone who is not thier canidate for everything that has went wrong and blindly defend the president who as everyone has seen is the same as romney. What is really the difference between the two?

 Obama liar, Never. http://www.ksat.com/news/Guantanamo-base-to-get-40M-upgrade/-/478452/15419746/-/qr1t8dz/-/index.html

Liar.

the office cat

Mr. Marsh...

The difference between the two?

1. Obama has integrity.

2. About $293 million in personal value (only counting the $299 million Rmoney holdings we know about)

3. Definite stated plans by Obama (that's why you can criticize him)

4. Perseverance despite complete unwillingness from GOoP and others.

He can't close Gitmo because none of the state prisons in the US would accept such 'dangerous' prisoners. IDEA: now that Kasich has privatized five prisons, maybe we can put them there.

Do not lump me in with you as 'one of those'.

Randy_Marsh

Still defending him on a personal basis. Integrity HA!! If you still believe anyone in washington has Integrity you are sadly mistaken. 299 million and counting of his own money Obama has mispent 5 trillion. "Exceeding the debt limit is a sign of the president failure". Perserverence? Again policy wise what is the difference because that is what we are voting for?. NOT if you like him or not. Im sure hes a nice guy and all.

They are BOTH progressive. Why dont you like romney?

the office cat

HILLTOP   sez " The only "people" politicians really care about are those with enough money to get them noticed by the media and help them win elections"

I resent that.  Or maybe I don't qualify as a 'politician'.  There a lot of us out here representing the people every day for 'token' pay, no benefits and sparse financial contributions during campaigns.

BUT.  Maybe you were speaking about all those 'politicians' supported by Karl Rove and Koch Brothers and all the 'citizen' corporations.  Are you aware their money even comes to Teapublicans running for the state legislature?

Until YOU have given of yourself to SERVE your fellow citizens, don't make snide unsupportable comments about the people who do.

That said... say all you want about all those politicians who really don't give a damb about the people they promise to serve.

Pundit

Did anyone see that picture of Mitt Romney being driven by his wife on a Sea Doo?

I'm gonna go ahead and call this election for Obama...

KnuckleDragger

Pundit says, "Did anyone see that picture of Mitt Romney being driven by his wife on a Sea Doo?"  Ah yes, the truth comes out that liberals hate women.  We got a two fer today, Pundit hates women, and office cat is a religious bigot.  The closer we get to November the more difficult it becomes for liberals to hide their bigotry. HISTORY LESSON.  Let us review

1787 Constitution written/passed  (Tea Party didn't even know this is the 225th anniversary of the Philadelphia convention).

1787 Congress under Articles of Confedereation passes Ordinance of 1787 establishing laws for the territory from which, in 19 years, Ohio  would gain statehood.

1789  Constitution ratified by 11 of 13 states, replacing the 12-year-old Articles of Confederation and effective in March

1789  Congress passes and George Washington signs the Northwest Ordinance - which confirms the Ordinance of 1787 passed under the Articles. In the ordinance is the provision for land to be set aside for public schools AND a sales tax to pay for public education.

1791  Bill of Rights ratified.

1803  Tea Party hero Thomas Jefferson (who, btw, didn't care for the final draft of the Declaration of Independence) committed the UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACT   of purchasing Louisiana (a whole lot more than the state) from Napoleon Bonaparte.  Jefferson said he knew he had no Constitutional authority for the purchase BUT noted the purchase was necessary to protect and defend the young US from that horrid Napoleon.

I think today we call that an Executive Order.

SOOOOO let's see.  The Red-haired Champion of the TEA PARTY, established free public education, established the first sales tax, and committed the first impeachable offense by a president and spent federal money like it was his.

But SSSSSSHHHHHHH .  Don't tell the Tea Party!

KnuckleDragger

Once again Brutus, which one of them isn't an elitist?  Better yet, which one of them is in the middle class, ie: not rich?  None of them, including Romney.

KnuckleDragger

@office cat, either you spend all day combing Wikipedia in a vain attempt to make yourself look more intelligent than you are, or your employer is getting short changed, since you spend an awful lot of time on here writing nonsense.

the office cat

@knuckles.  There you go again.  Do you assume everyone works during the day?

And on what basis do you charge me with bigotry?

Romney and his wife were on their seadoo.  Where is the woman-hatred there?

It's so much fun baiting you.

KnuckleDragger

No, I don't assume everyone works in the day. But why would I care, I retired this year at age 43 and live nicely off the money I've invested while I was working.  Your comments pertaining to Romneys religion show your bigotry.  The comment about hating women wasn't directed towards you.  I stopped reading your history lessons, most don't contain accurate information.  Apparently you forgot my Master's degree is in History and Governance, and I am an adjunct Professor of History at Cleveland area college (part-time).  I'm not here to debate you on history since the crap you are quoting in most cases, has little to do with what others are talking about, nor does it add to the dialog.  Have a good day, I have to get back to mowing my dead lawn in the sweltering heat.  lol

the office cat

@knuckle

No.  I didn't forget  "my Master's degree is in History and Governance, and I am an adjunct Professor of History at Cleveland area college (part-time)."

I just didn't know Ashland is 'Cleveland-area".

Most anyone with alphabet soup after his/her name can be an adjunct professor (which always is part-time). Some of us just don't need to flaunt it to inflate our 'authority' and disparage others.

Be careful out there.  With your inflated sense of self - even at 43 - you could bust an artery or stroke out.  You know, "only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noonday sun"... and a 110-degree heat index is even worse.  My degrees are in more practical pursuits pertaining to health and well-being.

Who mows dead grass?

The Big Dog's back

So knucklehead, if you are independently wealthy, why are you posting on here with us middle class folk?

the office cat

@knuckles

I notice in all your purjorative commentary you failed to dispute anything I said in the history lesson....

KnuckleDragger

@officeturd says, "

WHO passed legislation 2010-2012?.

OH! That's right! NOBODY! The GOoP and Tealiban made sure of that.

Again, your inability to do simple research has you sitting there with your foot in your mouth.  The Repub Controlled house to date has passed 27 jobs bills (that is just jobs bills not including others).  Of these bills all have been stopped or held up by the DEMOCRAT controlled Senate.  Apparently Dems don't like to admit that they are the ones who are obstructionists.  The Dems in the Senate and the Pres did pass and sign three jobs killing trade agreements though.  Guess we know where they stand on manufacturing jobs. lol

Knuckles

Is that what the Boner says...  27 jobs bills.  Which jobs were those?  And HOW were they going to be funded?  Oh yeah, cuts in healthcare, education, 'entitlements' (which the 'entitled' have paid for over decades), heating/cooling assistance programs,

Why don't you talk about REAL legislation?

KnuckleDragger

I'm sure they would be funded the same way that ObamaCare is. LOL.  In other words, mostly unfunded.  Read the Health Care bill once, we will be funding this with deficit spending for as long as the eyes can see.  Way to stick to those Democrat talking points, CUTS, CUTS, CUTS.  Were you spoon fed those by MSNBC?  Gotta love sheep.

the office cat

@Dragger.  Keep sippin' that tea.  Even OMB disputes your contentions - or are they ignorant too?  I keep forgettiing you are the only bright one here.

In case you missed it...

BIGOT: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

Is Merriam-Webster ALSO a hack?

Now... who has been accusing people of religious bigotry and hatred of women?

Donegan

"BIGOT: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance"

So to say the way the OWS/Democrats treat Republicans makes them all Bigots. Thanks for the lesson.

the office cat

DONEGAN....

I knew you'd be one of the first to come back with that.

So are Republicans racial or ethnic?

Where's the hatred?

Did the people at the Obama rally carry signs calling people names? Did they try to stop the protests even though the protestors didn't have a special event permit?  Did they challenge the Lyndon LaRouche protestors who want to impeach Obama?

During the Stars and Stripes event Wednesday there were tents for Democrats and 99% and Firelands Patriots.  The ONLY people showing any bigotry were the FPs who accused three different people of being 'freeloaders', "lazy liberals"; and "homies" because one of them dared to disagree with the FPs..

Donegan

Cat

"one who regards or treats the members of a group" with intolerance or hatred. The religion or race are examples of bigotry. Anyone who doesnt shared your same ideology is treated like dirt from the OWS/Democrats. Just look at these boards for example. So the point being in our divided busted system of hatred of opposing views EVERY politi hack can and should be considered a bigot. You would have to be blind not to see it.

You've got the "entitled" that have been receiving their entitlements since birth. How have they paid for those for over decades? Are you serious? I don't care if someone needs help to get back on their feet. And neither does the majority of conservatives. The problem is the one who ARE lazy and just looking for a free ride. And, there are many of those.

mikel

office cat says - "Even if he ends up a One-Termer he has accomplished so much more"  you are so right!  he has spent us into oblivition so much more than bush!  other than that a failure.

if i had the money i would also put it offshore!  the irresponsble spending of this gov't is insane!  remember when we were kids at the county fair and our parents would give us a $1.00 and tell us not to spend on stupid stuff??  most of us did anyways.  oidonthaveaclue does the same thing.  instead of actually trying to help out future generations financially he is just spending us into total ruination.

by the way, he has done a great job of enslaving the entitlement generation!

the office cat

@MIKEL sez "he has spent us into oblivion so much more than Bush"  Again, you fail to cite figures.  Bush came in with a thriving econcomy and a large surplus and left with two wars, a huge deficit, a crumbling economy - and trillions in hidden loans from China.

you're probably closer to accurate when you mention "the irresponsible spending of this government".... remembering ONLY the HOUSE can appropriate money and raise taxes.

Knuckles...  call me turd or what you will... you still didn't dispute anything in the history lesson.

As for Romney's religion:  Speaking facts - truth - about Mormonism and its tenets is not bigotry anymore than speaking truths - which I did - about your revered Judaeo-Christian tenets.   Agaiin... you call me bigoted but don't counter ANY of the facts I offered..

"BIGOT : a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance "  or is Merriam-Webster not good enough for you, either?

Somehow, of the two of us, I've demonstrated that doesn't define me.
