WILLARD

Employees from Hillside Acres in Willard hope to make themselves heard through prayer.

On strike for more than six weeks, members of the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 911 plan to host a prayer vigil and rally at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the United Brethren Church in Willard, across from Hillside Acres on East Howard Street.

UFCW Local 911 President Jeff Stephens said he hopes to generate continued support for the workers.

"The community has been real good so far -- they support the strikers and we're just trying to spread the word to make sure the whole community knows about it," Stephens said.
