SANDUSKY

Escaping the vibrations of motorcycle engine rumblings was impossible.

Countless bikes rolled into downtown Sandusky Saturday night as part of the Ohio Bike Week parade, led this year by a U.S. Army Sherman tank covered with flags, with a special guest of honor on board: Sandusky dentist Dr. Paul Ernst, who commanded a Sherman from the turret hatch during World War II and now rode in one of the driver-gunner hatches as the tank rumbled up the road.
