SANDUSKY

He’s just in time for the dog days of summer.

Sandusky police Officer Robert Gardin is the city’s new animal control officer.

Gardin is training with Erie County dog warden Barb Knapp to get familiarized with updated laws and regulations.

"It’s different, definitely different, than answering calls,” Gardin said of his new duties.

He has been an officer with the Sandusky Police Department since 1998.
