We wish to voice our disdain for your May 7, 2008 headline which read: "Don't Shoot My Mother." We have included our names to show that we are shocked and appalled that you would not only list the children's names, but then use the words of a child in terror to sell your newspaper. We have witnessed what this family has gone through, firsthand, through the eyes of their children. You turned a child's worst nightmare into a ploy to shock your readers. They are shocked, but not for the reasons you would like them to be. This is a call for a public and personal apology to the grandparents and the children. Also, the timing of Mother's Day being a few days away just adds to the absolute inappropriateness of such a story.
