Ottawa County officials broke ground Wednesday on a $1.5 million speculative building that could house potential businesses.
Ottawa County commissioners and Ottawa County Improvement Corp. officials shoveled dirt in a ceremonial groundbreaking at Lake Winds Industrial Park, despite pouring rain.
The 50,000-square-foot facility has been in the works for more than a year and will likely be completed by October, said Jamie Beier Grant, executive director of the Ottawa County Improvement Corp.
"It's been a really big undertaking," Beier Grant said. "I'm very excited because of what it represents to the community."
