CLYDE

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a semitrailer was hit by a bullet as it was driven along the Ohio Turnpike near here.

Police said the driver thought he had blown a tire when the tractor-trailer was hit at about 9 p.m. Friday. But when he stopped at a service plaza, a small-caliber bullet was found in the truck's passenger door. Investigators don't know what type of gun was used.

Authorities say the driver and a passenger were not injured.

The truck was traveling east near the Fremont exit in Sandusky County. The driver told investigators road rage was not involved, according to Toledo television station WNWO.

The Highway Patrol and Sandusky County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
