HURON

Police investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Bishop Kane Malone died March 29 after someone he was sleeping with rolled over on the infant and smothered him inside an apartment in the 200 block of Berlin Road, according to Huron police.

Erie County coroner Brian Baxter has issued a supplemental report identifying the immediate cause of death as "overlying" due to co-sleeping with an adult and/or sibling.

"That means that someone rolled over the baby and accidentally smothered it," Huron police Chief Randy Glovinsky said.
