PORT CLINTON

A Danbury township man was convicted Friday on 28 charges including rape and corrupting another with drugs for abusing a teenage girl last summer.

Dale "Bud" Notestine, 62, was handcuffed and escorted out of Ottawa County Common Pleas Court by sheriff's deputies moments after Judge Paul Moon delivered the verdict.

Following the three-day trial, during which Notestine waived his right to a jury, he was convicted of four counts of rape, seven counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, 12 counts of corrupting another with drugs, one count each of disseminating harmful matter to a juvenile and possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of possession of drugs.

He was acquitted on the remaining charges in the case, including 11 counts of rape.
