SANDUSKY

One of eight pending civillawsuits was cleaned off the plate of retired neurologist Dr. Mohan S. Chandran on Friday morning.

After deliberating for four hours during a two-day period, jurors ruled in favor of Chandran, who was accused of medical malpractice in a 2004 lawsuit filed in Erie County Common Pleas Court.

"They made the right decision," said one of Chandran's lawyers, Michael P. Murphy, moments after Judge Tygh Tone read the verdict.

In the lawsuit, Sandusky resident Karri Sharkey, 39, and her husband alleged Chandran, 51, failed to properly diagnose and treat the woman's infected hip.
