PORT CLINTON

A century-old courthouse mural is scheduled for a face-lift.

During a Tuesday morning meeting, Ottawa County commissioners approved spending $32,150 to restore the 1901 mural, located in the rotunda of the Ottawa County Courthouse.

Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Paul Moon said he's elated it will be done before he retires this year after 18 years on the bench.

"I have to wait and see. I don't know what's under all that gunk," Moon said. "It's something that needs to be done, and I'm very happy that they're doing it."
