The Register needs your help.
Work is underway on the third in a series of historical books, and the Register is looking for photos of Erie County or the Erie Isles after 1974.
The photos can range from sports teams to school classes, church groups, family gatherings, businesses, transportation, natural disasters, community events and more. The photos will appear in "A Pictorial History 1975-Today: Erie County and The Erie Isles."
"As with the first two books, a big part of every book is those pictures brought in by the general public," said Bill Ney, circulation director.
Those interested can bring their pictures to the Quality Inn (Greentree), Royal Palm Room, 1935 Cleveland Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Those closer to Milan can bring their pictures from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Milan Library, 19 E. Church St.
People don't have to part with their pictures; photos will be scanned while they wait.
Ney said people can look for upcoming pre-sale ads to order the books in advance at a reduced rate.
"The first two books have been very popular," Ney said. "They've been well received. We just think this would be a nice ending to this particular series."
