SANDUSKY

It's not an emergency.

The city will wait for the results of a county-wide study before making its next move in terms ofemergency dispatch services.

At the Feb. 12 Perkins Township trustee meeting, city leaders urged trustees to move quickly on acombined dispatch betweenSandusky and Perkins.

"We'll have an offer ready for you within two weeks, but we need an answer in two months," commission vice president Craig Stahl said at the meeting.

At the time the city wasoperating on a police cooperation committee's advice that the city's emergency dispatch services were in bad shape.

A subsequent task force, however, has determined that is not the case, commission president Dennis Murray Jr. said Friday.

Confident that its dispatch system is not on the verge of failure, the city has taken a less urgent approach to emergency dispatch services and will wait for the results of a county-wide dispatchfeasibility study.
