The Erie County Board of MRDD will no longer offer preschool, as the agency looks to bolster adult services.
The demand for adult services has increased in recent years, officials say, which necessitated a shift in focus.
Erie-Huron-Ottawa Educational Service Center officials said parents of preschoolers shouldn't worry.
"We will be providing the services," EHOESC superintendent Bill Lally said.
If EHOESC hadn't taken on the program, the children enrolled would most likely have been sent back to their home districts, causing what could be a major disruption to the children.
