HURON
Huron now has its official man of letters.
The city council established the position of poet laureate at Tuesday's council meeting.
Acting on the recommendation of local writers, council tapped Larry Smith for the job.
Smith, a professor emeritus at BGSU Firelands, is the founder and director of Bottom Dog Press and a prolific author and poet.
"I knew that it was in the works," Smith said of his appointment.
