What began last Sunday as a way to sell a house has raised some ire in the neighborhood.
Pam Frisch, owner of Yesteryears Restaurant, decided last week to give her Perkins Township home to the winner of an essay contest. With a $100 entry fee, people can submit an essay detailing how they would use the house. Frisch planned on having an outside organization judge the essays and pick a winner. Frisch is requiring a minimum of 5,000 essays, or else she will return the money.
The idea has some critics.
