If you go outside next weekend and look for folks holding field glasses, you may be able to spot the annual migration to Sandusky of bird watchers such as Delores Cole.

Cole, a Lyndhurst resident, and Tom and Carol Bostic of Marion are among the regulars planning to show up for the 15th annual Lake Erie Wing Watch, scheduled for April 11-13 at the campus of BGSU Firelands in Huron.

Cole, who does information security audits for Key Bank, has been a bird watcher for more than 10 years and has flocked to the Lake Erie Wing Watch nine times.

“This is my main hobby. I’m very immersed in it,” Cole said. “There’s really a certain amount of tranquility outside in nature. It’s very peaceful and relaxing, as opposed to a daytime job. It’s pretty to be outdoors.”
