Emergency crews have closed off Old State Road in Norwalk, between Ohio 18 and U.S. 20, while workers repair a gas leak.
Norwalk officials said the half-mile stretch of road should reopen by about 5 p.m.
An Ohio Edison crew struck and ruptured a gas line while digging at about 2 p.m., city officials said. No one was injured and residents were not forced to evacuate.
