The city's request to partake in an Erie County fuel purchasing program has stalled out.
In a letter dated Feb. 25, Sandusky Transit administrator Rosanne Bodner asked Erie County commissioners if the Sandusky Transit System could buy fuel through the county's fuel contract with the state.
Bodner wrote that tight budgets and an ever-increasing gap between available funding and necessary costs have madecreative thinking and interagency cooperation vitally important.
County commissioners denied her request, explaining their fuel resources are limited.
