Heather Love Carman, a Sandusky attorney running as an independent for the post of Sandusky Municipal Judge, said Friday she has been forced to give up her job as a child support enforcement attorney for Sandusky County Job and Family Services.

Carman, who said her last day was Monday, said federal government ruled her race was a violation of the Hatch Act, which bans partisan political activity from federal employees. Carman's agency receives federal funds.
